ARAMARK Launches Parent Coaching Programme for Employees

26/05/2009

ARAMARK, the award-winning managed food service company, launches a new development programme to improve the work/life balance of its senior management employees in these trying economic times.

Each year, ARAMARK employees are encouraged to attend training courses to expand their skill base, aiding staff attraction, motivation and retention.  The Coaching Skills for Parents scheme has been set up by Next Generation Coaching, an organisation run by professional business consultants. This mentoring programme is designed to help those who face the modern-day challenges of parenting as well as juggling the demands of working life.

This particular initiative is part of ARAMARK’s comprehensive Corporate Responsibility (CR) campaign.  By attending this innovative programme, ARAMARK employees will gain essential skills they can use at home and in the workplace to boost confidence and performance.  The course also gives individuals a greater understanding of how the role of a parent influences the self-esteem and development of a child.

Robbie Wheeler, HR Director at ARAMARK, commented:

“We want to demonstrate to our employees that their welfare is important to us and part of this is making sure they know that they are valued and to show we are listening to them.  We are aware that juggling work and family life can be a struggle, particularly in these stressful economic times, so we want to provide coping techniques to make employees lives easier, both at home and at work.  This in turn will promote a more motivated management team, which will have a positive effect on the rest of the staff.

“Coaching Skills for Parents teaches our employees about effective parenting skills, the fundamental needs of children and understanding and managing children’s behaviour.”
