I was attracted to ARAMARK's graduate programme as it has a strong business focus. My first assignment was in Specialist Markets (Healthcare, Education, Judicial and MoD), where I worked on a variety of projects. I soon progressed to a new role as a Trainee Manager in an NHS Trust, where I led the implementation and promotion of new branded coffee shops across the Trust's estate. I was delighted with the rollout as sales doubled.
This training and experience grew my understanding of both retail and the importance of a strong brand image. I was able to build on this in another implementation for a police headquarters.
As the company introduced different food management procedures, I worked with managers to ensure these operational procedures were integrated throughout the business. This led to a secondment to ARAMARK Spain, where I was able to use my Spanish working in Barcelona and Madrid.
At the end of the graduate programme I moved into a new role as Operations Support Manager, working on a company-wide initiative.
No other graduate programme could have offered me so many diverse opportunities to work across business sectors, both in the UK and abroad. Every day is a new challenge and not a standard nine to five.
