Charity Support

  • To identify nominated charities and media-led campaigns to support across our business, giving our people a choice of great causes to support
    • Five nominated charities identified
    • Children in Need raised £72K
  • To develop marketing programmes integrated with our retail initiatives to support these charities throughout the year
    • Macmillan Coffee Morning promotion completed in September
    • Childline promotion linked into Christmas Promotion
    • RNLI SOS day being supported in January 2009

Volunteering

  • To develop a Star Teams network across all regions and identify key projects for them to support
    • London and Aberdeen up and running successfully
  • To create a range of volunteering programmes that are accessible  to all ARAMARK employees across the UK
    • In discussions with Salvation Army  - initial trial taking place in London
    • Plans in place to bring over ARAMARK's US programme, ARAMARK Building Communities, during 2009
    • Aberdeen supports the Northfield Community Centre
  • To focus on support in schools during British Food Fortnight promoting the use of British products and healthy eating
    • 50 Schools supported by chefs this year

Growing Industry Talent

  • To work with industry bodies to enable the unemployed and disadvantaged to gain access to work experience and permanent placements
    • Working partnership with Springboard and Job Centre Plus
  • To develop our own teams and provide guidance and support to maximise their opportunities
    • Managing talent programme in place for four bands of managers
    • Appraisal process in place for all team members
    • Succession planning leads from the above
